Gillman Houston Area and Gillman San Antonio Dealerships Once Again Designated as Top 100 Work Places!
Really good news that’s getting to be almost like old news! For the eleventh time, Gillman dealerships in the Houston area, including Gillman Nissan in Fort Bend County, were named Top 100 Work Places! Not to be outdone, the Gillman San Antonio dealerships earned the Top 100 Work Places award for the ninth time! As an aside, the program started in Houston a few years before coming to San Antonio.
Being named a Top 100 Work Place out of the tens of thousands of companies that are surveyed is a singular honor. Groups vying for this award include health-care organizations, hospitals, school districts, colleges, major oil companies, huge real estate firms and more. To achieve this distinction multiple times attests to the spirit and heart of our organization.
While physical facilities are important, truly great work places attain that stature because of the people who work there. So this award is a tribute to the entire Gillman teams in both cities because the qualifying survey uses employee responses to determine recipients.
“Way to go” to all Gillman team members who made this happen!

The 27th Annual Ramsay Gillman Charitable Golf Tournament Continues to Provide Outstanding Support for the Fort Bend County Women’s Center!
The fairways of Sweetwater Country Club were alive with excitement at the November 7th start of the 27th annual Ramsay Gillman Charitable Golf Tournament. The players, attending sponsors and spectators were enthusiastic about being part of what has become an almost legendary fund-raising event for the Fort Bend County Women’s Center.
The Center has received well over $1 million in funding from the tournament to support the much needed programs they offer. These include crises intervention, emergency residence, family support, counseling and assistance for women and children in need due to domestic violence or sexual assault.
A special Gillman “Way to go!” to our great team of volunteers who gave their time and more to help conduct a fine day of golf, competition and sportsmanship. Due to their efforts, all who attended enjoyed a top-ticket experience.
The entire Gillman team extends their heartfelt thanks to our honored sponsors and the players who came out to aid a truly worthy cause. They have made this event possible. Together we have built a memorable funding resource for the Fort Bend County Women’s Center.
Please Congratulate Maria Gonzalez for 20 Years on the Gillman Team!

Combined, the two dictate a key Gillman Companies operating philosophy. Simply stated, it is “Whenever possible, promote from within.” Please congratulate the following Gillman staff members who have earned a promotion and moved forward in their career.

Gillman Chevrolet in Harlingen Holds Thanksgiving Feast for Team Members!
|
The 20-Foot RuleAt Gillman dealerships, our number one priority is building customer trust and loyalty. So first impressions are very important. One of the strongest negative experiences a person can have is to walk into a store and stand there being ignored by people who should be of assistance. When that happens, many people leave the premises, never to return. Preventing that and trying to ease the awkward tension we all feel in a new situation is at the heart of our 20-Foot Rule. It is every Gillman team member’s job, whenever they pass within 20 feet of an obviously unattended customer, to immediately stop and render assistance. It only takes a few seconds to be sure that person is being helped. Those few seconds can make the difference between gaining a friend for life and losing an individual’s business forever. Let our customers know how much we appreciate them visiting our stores by lending a helping hand and showing our friendly Gillman spirit. |

Roel Aguillon Completes 40 Years as a Valuable Member of the Gillman Team
Roel was working at Hull Field, now Sugar Land Regional Airport, stocking and prepping private aircraft cabins prior to passenger boarding. He was also responsible for towing planes in and out of hangers between flights. The Gillman Companies jet was one he serviced. When asked, he became part of the Gillman team. Today, 40 years later, he continues to maintain the Executive Offices in Houston and his friendly presence has become a respected tradition.
Married, with three sons, Roel brings a quiet efficiency to his work. He gets the job done right the first time, every time. Congratulations, and a big Gillman “Way to go!” to one of the most loyal team members. Thanks, Roel, for all your service and contributions to our continued success.
Hassan Kutlar Recognized for His 25 Years with Gillman!
One of the best ways to assure our customers will love their new vehicle is to deliver it in perfect condition. To assure this happens, Gillman team members expend great effort in getting each car, truck or SUV to pass a stringent Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI).
Hassan Kutlar, who is having his 25th anniversary as a Gillman team member, is a vital part of the Gillman Honda Houston PDI crew. Hassan is married and has one son. His first job with Gillman was in PDI and his expertise in this area is unmatched.
Many thanks, Hassan, for your valuable contributions in this demanding field and the positive attitude you bring to our company. A big Gillman “Way to go!” to Hassan Kutlar. If you see him, please offer your congratulations for his outstanding performance.
Many thanks to Maria Baeza for 20 Years with Gillman!

Gillman Honda San Antonio Continues Tradition of Supporting Toys for Tots!
The picture tells it like it is! When Mario Del Bosque and his team at Gillman Honda San Antonio support Toys for Tots, the tots get the toys. Joining forces this year with the 4th Reconnaissance Battalion of the US Marines, dealership staff went to work. Between their donations, help from caring customers and added support from generous business partners, a lot of underprivileged kids got a much happier Christmas.
There is no way to properly express our thanks for a job well done! Everyone involved, please accept a huge “Way to go!” from our Gillman community.
