Gillman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram BIG JEEP MEET a Major Success!

Event celebrating everything Jeep has outstanding turnout!

On the 8th of February, Dave Campbell, General Manager of Gillman Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, and his great team set an enviable record. They hosted the second Big Jeep Meet and the turnout was bigger than the first event. Way bigger!

Hundreds of Jeep enthusiasts came in every kind of Jeep imaginable. Some were almost beyond imagination, like original World War II open-sided olive-drab models and a Star Wars themed setting for a Jeep Wrangler. Tricked-out, decked-out Jeeps were the order of the day. The amount of creativity on display showed how much Jeep owners care for their vehicles, as well as the fun of Jeep ownership.

Nearly 400 Jeeps registered for the Car Show and arrived from all corners of the Houston area. Owners and Jeep fans brought their families and friends to celebrate all things Jeep and enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts.

A DJ kept the music blaring, food trucks served their wares free of charge, the crowd enjoyed giveaway items, after-market accessory dealers had open displays of goodies, kids found a zone just for their enjoyment, and the drawings for great prizes met with cheers.

It was a record-setting tribute to Jeep and Jeep owners. The second Gillman Big Jeep Meet was the best yet. And there is more to come!

A Big Gillman Thanks to Bonnie Meyer for 25 Years on the Gillman Team!

In her 25 years with the Gillman Companies, Bonnie Meyer has held a number of important positions. Since her first assignment as an Inventory Control Clerk, she has been in Finance, Accounting, served as an Assistant Office Manager and a Sales Secretary. She was Ramsay Gillman’s Executive Assistant.

In addition to her outstanding professional work history, Bonnie was a major driver in making the annual Ramsay Gillman Charity Golf Tournament such a huge success. Working with all involved, she brought an energy to the project that boosted the event from startup to the prestigious position it holds today.

Way to go, Bonnie!

The 20-Foot Rule

At Gillman dealerships, our number one priority is building customer trust and loyalty. So first impressions are very important.

One of the strongest negative experiences a person can have is to walk into a store and stand there being ignored by people who should be of assistance. When that happens, many people leave the premises, never to return.
Preventing that and trying to ease the awkward tension we all feel in a new situation is at the heart of our 20-Foot Rule.

It is every Gillman team member’s job, whenever they pass within 20 feet of an obviously unattended customer, to immediately stop and render assistance. It only takes a few seconds to be sure that person is being helped, and those few seconds can make the difference between gaining a friend for life and losing an individual’s business forever.

Let our customers know how much we appreciate them visiting our stores by lending a helping hand and showing our friendly Gillman spirit.

Remembrance in Red! Gillman Company Team Members Celebrate Ramsay Gillman Day 2020!

Ramsay Gillman loved the retail automobile industry. He drove the growth of our company from a single dealership in Sharpstown to one of the largest dealer groups in the nation. Today we serve car and truck buyers from the Gulf Coast through South Texas and into the Rio Grande Valley.

February 1st was Ramsay’s birthday. So each year, the entire Gillman team observes this date by wearing red, his favorite color. It’s a powerful way to honor his memory.

Ramsay was an auto dealers’ auto dealer. He showed true devotion to his chosen profession by serving on governmental boards and assuming leadership positions in local, state, regional and national organizations. The positive effects of his many contributions to the communities we serve can still be seen today.

Ramsay was a unique person with a remarkable sense of humor. His door was always open and he was ready to help family, friends and fellow employees.

Remembrance in Red is a fitting tribute to his memory.

Gillman Nissan Holds the Crowd’s Attention at New Car Owners Clinic!

New Owners Clinics are a great way to help attendees get the most out of their vehicles and build long-term brand as well as dealership loyalty. Dave Campbell, GM of Gillman Nissan, and Ryan Nowroozi, Gillman Nissan Sales Manager, understand this and work hard to make each clinic a great event.

How well they have succeeded is amply demonstrated by having 93 customers attend their latest production. Much valuable information was exchanged and all who came had an enjoyable and memorable experience.

Way to go, Gillman Nissan!

Patricia Perez Named Employee of the Year at Gillman Chevrolet Harlingen

Houston Honda Dealers sponsored the KTRK-TV Share Your Holidays Food Drive and donated $15,000 to the Houston Food Bank. That equates to about 45,000 meals!

Of equal importance, Honda Dealers supplied the needed people power to collect individual donations and pack those supplies into 1,250 meal kits! According to event managers, their aid was indispensable.

Gillman Honda team members Rolander “Cortez” Terry, Katherine Martinez, Zuelika Henriquez and Sidney “Mike” Cortez participated in this vital project.

Way to go, you four!

Another Loyal Customer

A phone call from a very happy customer: She brought her Gillman Honda here for service this week and could not say enough nice things about the way she was treated by Troy Brymer. She was truly impressed and took time to call the Executive Office to let us know about this outstanding service and what a great employee Gillman Honda has.

Gillman Honda San Antonio Christmas Season Celebration More Than an Ugly Sweater Contest

The Gillman Honda San Antonio team called their Christmas extravaganza celebration “Fa La La La Llama” event and it came with a non-traditional blue Santa and a llama-reindeer. But to again show their hearts were in sync with the season, team members donated piles of toys to the Selma Police Department’s “Toys Not Tickets” benefit.

Great job, everyone!

In Memoriam

The Gillman team honors the memory of Lane Pearson. Lane devoted her time and attention to initiating and supporting the Ramsay Gillman Charity Golf Tournament that has done so much for the Fort Bend Women’s Center.

Health & Wellness: BENEFITS

By Alyssa Zubiate

Gillman has changed our health insurance carrier to Aetna. Aetna is a major health insurance provider and has a vast network of doctors and hospitals. All major hospitals, including the Methodist Hospital in Houston, are covered by Aetna. Approximately 94% of the doctors on our United Healthcare Plan are also covered under Aetna. Please be sure to check your health care provider to ensure they are in the Aetna Network. Additionally, most benefits will remain the same with Aetna except for a few minor changes.

We have instituted the wellness gift card program once again this year. On 2/6/2020 an email was sent to you with the form you can provide to your doctor. As a reminder, you can complete three out of those four exams and receive a $100 for each one.

Promoting from Within the Gillman Team!

“The best person for the job!” That was Ramsay Gillman’s cardinal rule for hiring. “Give team members every opportunity for advancement” was another of his axioms. Combined, the two dictate Gillman Companies operating philosophy. Simply stated, it is “Whenever possible, promote from within.”
Please congratulate the following Gillman staff members who have earned promotions and moved forward in their careers!
Sue Baze transferred from Chrysler Title Clerk to Corporate Staff Accountant.
Iris Ventura-Montoya transferred from Chrysler Sales Secretary to Payroll Administrator.
Way to go, Sue and Iris.
