Gillman Houston and San Antonio Dealerships Again Earn Top 100 Workplace Recognition!

Each year the Houston Chronicle and the San Antonio Express newspapers utilize the services of a top internationally recognized research firm. The assignment is to evaluate a huge number of area companies and organizations. The goal is to create a list of the Top 100 Workplaces in each city.

The Gillman Houston dealerships made the Top 100 listing in the first awards survey. They have retained that leadership position almost every year since. There is only a handful of Harris County firms able to claim that distinction. It is a tribute to all Gillman Houston team members!

Seven years ago, when the Top Workplace program was introduced in Bexar County, the Gillman San Antonio dealerships earned a place on the initial listing. San Antonio team members have now gained the Top Workplace distinction every year since their program began. Truly outstanding performance from everyone!

In the Rio Grande Valley, the Valley Star newspaper’s annual Reader’s Choice Awards competition recognizes the Valley’s top performers in a diverse number of fields. Gillman Rio Grande Valley team members and dealerships have been named best of the best time and again in different categories.

At Gillman, it is a tradition to bring exceptional people together in state-of-the-art facilities. This allows each team member to realize their true potential. That very basic principle remains a cornerstone of our company. Real professionals working in a congenial, productive atmosphere with the tools required to maximize their skills will consistently deliver outstanding customer satisfaction.

Moreover, top customer satisfaction is the key to our continued future success.

Rachel San Miguel’s Miraculous Honda CR-V Tops 400,000 Miles and Keeps on as New!

When Gillman Administrative Assistant Rachel San Miguel bought her 2002 Honda CR-V, little did she know she’d still be driving it a decade and a half later! Today, with 420,000 miles on the odometer, the San Miguel CR-V still runs great! The only major repair to the vehicle was a new air conditioner!

Way to go, Honda, for building them right and to Rachel for exceptional car care!

Gillman Honda San Antonio helped by donating prizes and goodie bags for the kids. As a thank you, members of the Selma Police Department presented Gillman Honda with a special flag signed by members of this year’s class.

Praise from a Loyal Customer

The office just received a phone call from a very happy customer. She brought her Gillman Honda here for service this week and could not say enough nice things about the way she was treated by Troy Brymer. She was truly impressed and took time to call the Executive Office to let us know about this outstanding service and what a great employee Gillman Honda has.

—Another Loyal and Satisfied Gillman Honda Service Customer

The 20-Foot Rule

At Gillman dealerships, our number one priority is building customer trust and loyalty. So first impressions are very important.

One of the strongest negative experiences a person can have is to walk into a store and stand there being ignored by people who should be of assistance. When that happens, many people leave the premises, never to return.
Preventing that and trying to ease the awkward tension we all feel in a new situation is at the heart of our 20-Foot Rule.

It is every Gillman team member’s job, whenever they pass within 20 feet of an obviously unattended customer, to immediately stop and render assistance. It only takes a few seconds to be sure that person is being helped, and those few seconds can make the difference between gaining a friend for life and losing an individual’s business forever.

Let our customers know how much we appreciate them visiting our stores by lending a helping hand and showing our friendly Gillman spirit.

401 (K)orner By Elaine Drury

I cannot stress how very important it is that if you are in the 401k, you go to the website and fill out a beneficiary form. Empower is now the beneficiary record keeper. If something were to happen to you, and you have no beneficiary on file with them, your money could be tied up in the court system until the court decides who gets that money. It only takes a few minutes to fill this out and it is very important.

Remember you can also change your contribution percentage on the website as well as learn more about your investments.
Also, please be sure to check your address in the ADP system. If this is not correct, then it will not be correct in Empower either and could hinder you from accessing your money.

The website is www.NADA401k.com. Please call me with questions at 713-776-7065 or email me at edrury@gillmanauto.com.

Health & Wellness: COLDS & FLU

By Elaine Drury

Well, it is that time of year again. Here are some suggestions to help fight colds and flu:
1. Be sure to wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds with soap and warm water.
2. Have the sanitizer ready. Look for one that has at least 60% alcohol in it.
3. Try to limit how much you touch your face. Germs can enter your body through your eyes, nose or mouth.
4. Cover that cough. Sneeze into a tissue or the crook of your elbow.
5. Keep your distance. Avoid close contact with anyone who is ill.
6. Wipe often. Regularly clean surfaces you touch often, keyboards, remotes, phones, door handles. Use soapy water and a household disinfectant.
7. Share not. Remind your family not to share items such as cups and silverware.
8. Build a strong defense. Be sure to get plenty of sleep, eat healthy and get regular exercise.
9. Be sure to get your annual flu shot.
Please keep yourself healthy and those around you will be healthy too!
